How?
Slippery Elm ( Ulmus fulva ), our powerhouse is used for any sort of inflammation or irritation in the digestive tract. It contains mucilage which may help heartburn by acting as a barrier to acid effects on the oesophagus. It soothes inflammation. It is also an antioxidant and helps protect the digestive system from free radical damage..

Marshmallow is demulcent, emollient, and anti-inflammatory – that means “it’s juicy, smoothing, and soothing.” It’s made up of 10-30% mucilage, which means it’s really gooey when prepared with water, and that mucilage coats the oesophagus and the stomach. This mucilaginous coating effectively protects the LES and oesophagus from the stomach acid, so if acid gets up into your oesophagus it won’t irritate the smooth muscle. After your insides are all good and coated, marshmallow’s emollient and anti-inflammatory actions go to work soothing your irritated smooth muscle and mucous membranes, giving them some nourishing love, and the chance to heal naturally!

Chamomile (Matricaria recutita ) is used as a gentle sedative for nerves and anxiety with anti-inflammatory properties. Naturally antiseptic, antispasmodic, and a valuable digestive aid.
The root of the Ginger plant is another well-known herbal digestive aid. It has been used for centuries as a folk remedy for heartburn.
Licorice is said to increase the mucous coating of the oesophageal lining, helping it resist the irritating effect.
Turmeric is another potent anti-inflammatory herb that can coat the stomach lining and help to protect the mucus layer ts of stomach acid.
Dandelion is high in nutrients and is bitter, which stimulates the cascade of digestive secretions. Dandelion also has a significant cleansing effect on the liver by stimulating bile production, which is important for fat digestion
Caraway is used for digestive problems including heartburn, bloating, gas, loss of appetite, and mild spasms of the stomach and intestines.
